Dentures in Cowra — Comfortable, Natural-Looking Tooth Replacement
What are dentures?
Dentures are removable dental appliances used to replace missing teeth. They can replace just a few teeth (partial dentures) or all the teeth in the upper or lower jaw (full dentures). Modern dentures are much more comfortable and natural-looking than they used to be — and they’re a cost-effective way to restore function and appearance.
What types of dentures are available?
At Cowra Dental, we offer:
- Full dentures – for patients missing all teeth in the upper or lower jaw
- Partial dentures – for patients missing some teeth but still retaining others
- Acrylic or metal-based options – depending on comfort, budget, and durability
- Implant-supported dentures – for a more stable, long-term fit (when suitable)
Our dentists will talk you through the different materials and options to find what suits your needs and lifestyle best.
Are dentures uncomfortable?
Not when they’re done properly. A well-fitted denture should feel secure and sit comfortably in your mouth. There might be an adjustment period, especially if it’s your first time wearing them, but we’ll work with you to get the fit right. We also offer follow-up adjustments as needed.
What’s the process for getting dentures?
- Initial consultation – We assess your oral health, discuss your goals, and plan the right type of denture.
- Impressions and measurements – We take moulds of your mouth to ensure a precise fit.
- Try-in and adjustments – A trial version is created and adjusted before the final set is made.
- Fitting and follow-up – Your final dentures are fitted, and we schedule follow-up visits if needed.
It’s a step-by-step process that ensures you’re happy with the comfort, function, and appearance before everything is finalised.
How do I care for my dentures?
Dentures need to be cleaned daily with a soft brush and mild cleanser. You’ll also need to soak them overnight (unless you’ve been told otherwise). We’ll give you clear care instructions at your fitting — and we’re always happy to check them at your regular dental visits. It’s also important to continue having check-ups with our dentists so we can monitor the fit and your overall oral health.
How long do dentures last?
With proper care, dentures usually last around 5 to 8 years. Over time, changes in your mouth can affect how they fit, so relining or replacing them might be needed. If your dentures start to feel loose or uncomfortable, book in — we can help sort it out quickly.
How much do dentures cost?
The cost of dentures depends on the type, material, and whether you’re replacing full or partial sets. We’ll provide a clear quote before getting started, and we’re happy to discuss payment options. If you have private health insurance with dental extras, you may be able to claim a portion of the cost.
